August was a month filled with activity. Lots of celebrating and enjoying time with our family and friends. The first weekend found us in Valatie, NY for Janine and Rick's wedding. Then began the arrival of family for the 50th Anniversary Celebration on August 14th. We continued to enjoy "cousin time" the following week and then prepared for our annual camping trip to Eighth Lake. On August 23 Ron found out that Otto Bock could not accomodate his physician's recommendations for a heathier lifestyle since his stroke in 2008. Ron was let go on August 25th and we are much happier to have Daddy home instead of the 80 hours each week he spent away from home with an additional 16 hours a week working from home and then 4 to 8 hours of Otto Bock work each weekend. Ron will be networking and looking for the next venture in his career. God has better plans for our future! Thomas will not be going to preschool until next September with a plan to start Kindergarten in 2012. He will keep busy this year in Together Time, Bible School, library story times, helping Mommy here at home and perhaps swim lessons. Bethan is entering 3rd grade with Mrs. Clark. She will continue with Saint Mary's Joyful Noise Choir, piano lessons, Girl Scouts, Rockin' Readers, and perhaps join the swim team. Jeffery is going into 6th grade at the Middle School where he looks forward to riding his bike most days. He will continue with piano lessons, viola, swimming and Lego Robotics (thanks to Laura becoming the Lego Robotics coach in the Middle School). Laura is still trying to catch up from summer projects as she prepares for Lego Robotics and the continuation of Together Time, Botanical Society, and keeping things going here at home. She looks forward to Community Bible Study beginning again soon and hopes to get in more walks in with Jake. |
