| Tis the season of birthdays here at the Ouimette family. Bethan turned 9 on November 30th, Jeffery will be 12 on December 5th and then we set full swing into preparing for the best birthday of all...The celebration of Jesus' birth on Christmas Day. The Nativity sets are out and the kids are counting up/down to Christmas on their Advent quilt, Santa beard, chocolate scenes, and with the Advent wreath of candles on the dining room table. We may go cut our tree this weekend if the weather cooperates before a family birthday celebration. Our Christmas cards are not started, and baking won't begin until late next week. Laura is working on her ornament gifts, an ornament she decided upon just last week after again rejecting the ideas she had been saving all year long. Ron has asked us to remind him to set out the leg lamp in the barn window, but that too may happen eventually. Oh, and the sauerbraten will need to be made ready in time for the Bender gathering. How wonderful that no matter where we are or how ready we may or may not be...God gives us the greatest gift of His son...unconditionally, no matter what! We are still doing quite well without employment due in part perhaps to our modest living yet so much more so in appreciation of God's blessings. Our faith has been strong that this is where we are meant to be for now, setting God, family, and health as priorities. Ron is loving his position as swim coach for the 8 and under group so much so that he's considering going back to teaching at the elementary level. He hopes to be able to eliminate business travel and is thankful to sleep in his own bed every night. So much more we could share... but it will have to wait until next month. |
