Thomas and Bethan wanted to
assist Laura with cookie baking
this year. They did a great job
unwrapping Hershey Kisses
before Laura was ready to use
them. Laura asked Thomas to
count the Kisses while she
prepared the dough. She was
very pleased to hear Thomas,
"1...2...3...4...5..." that when she
turned to commend him on his
counting she noticed he was
carefully taste testing each Kiss
with a lick as he counted. Laura
had Thomas eat a half dozen
Kisses and set the rest of them
aside for the cookies.

| Each year Maya invites us over to enjoy Christmas treats and the candles on her Christmas tree. It's quite a special time for our family. |
| January 3, 2009: I'm adding this picture that Mom took and sent to me via Email (with Dad's help). (What techie parents I have!) Yes, there's someone new with Peter this year. Her name is Emily and she fit right in with our Bender Christmas. Also of note, that popcorn and cranberry string on Mom's Christmas tree was made in the 20th century and still looks just fine after spending most of its time hanging over a hanger in a closet awaiting to adorn next year's tree. -Laura LB |
