| VISIT TO LAKE PLACID |
| On Friday we headed out to cross country ski to Lake Placid on the Jack Rabbit Trail behind the Howard Johnson. Ron and the big kids made it all the way to Lake Placid while Laura went half way with Thomas (who refused to wear skis and preferred to hike with one pole). We continued home after cross country skiing with a stop at the Ice Castle at Saranac Lake. |
Funny story: While checking out possible cross country ski trails
Joe made a comment that "Grandma could ski up a tree"
(meaning be careful if Grandma recommended the trail because
it might be tough going for the rest of us). So, Thomas is hiking
along side of Laura skiing and looks up more than straight ahead
where he's walking. When Laura asks Thomas why he's looking
up so much, Thomas answers, "I'm looking for GRANDMA!".
To get back to the van there was one last "uphill" that had to be
tackled. Thomas climbed steadily saying, "I think I can, I think I
can, I think I can..."
