| Ron was very excited to get back in touch with Coach MacDonald this past month. If his next career path can get him back into the world of swimming Ron will be very happy. Laura is still trying to make sense of "the basement" and has had lots of time to pray as she does so while shoveling. Jeffery became a TENDERFOOT in Boy Scouts this past month and recently enjoyed a full day out in the snow as Patrol Leader to his troop. The snow and ice have not stopped him from riding his bike to school. Jeffery swam his first 200 IM in January! Bethan started wearing glasses in January. She enjoyed book club, Girl Scout meetings, Odyssey of the Mind, and swam the 100 IM twice! Thomas continues to enjoy Bible School and Together Time, especially the craft projects. He began swimming lessons in January and has been going to storytime at the Library. Thomas LOVES to sing at home and in the van (but not in groups). Jake is looking forward to a visit from Tipper. Hopefully he'll be able to intice her to play like a puppy for a few days in our snowy backyard. |

| One of Laura's favorite high school teachers died January 28, 2010. Mr. James Nowak had retired from teaching to begin Building Futures where he built a school and health clinic in Kenya. Mr. Nowak was killed in an auto accident in Kenya. In this video http://prendismo.mobi/collection/viewclip/11379 Jim Nowak speaks about his personal philosophy and drive. He ends it saying, “I do want to be the 85- year-old guy that looks back and says, well we did some good stuff, you know. Change the world.” He may have only lived here on earth for 59 years, but he’s done more good stuff than most that make it to 85. |
