Luke 22: 19-20

John 19:1-3
1 Then Pilate took Jesus and had him flogged. 2 The soldiers twisted together a crown of thorns and put it on his
head. They clothed him in a purple robe 3 and went up to him again and again, saying, “Hail, king of the Jews!”
And they slapped him in the face.
John 19:16-19
16 Finally Pilate handed him over to them to be crucified. So the soldiers took charge of Jesus. 17 Carrying his own
cross, he went out to the place of the Skull (which in Aramaic is called Golgotha). 18 There they crucified him, and
with him two others—one on each side and Jesus in the middle. 19 Pilate had a notice prepared and fastened to the
cross. It read: JESUS OF NAZARETH, THE KING OF THE JEWS.
Luke 23:34
Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” And they divided up his clothes by

John 19:28-30
28 Later, knowing that everything had now been finished, and so that Scripture would be fulfilled, Jesus said, “I am
thirsty.” 29 A jar of wine vinegar was there, so they soaked a sponge in it, put the sponge on a stalk of the hyssop
plant, and lifted it to Jesus’ lips. 30 When he had received the drink, Jesus said, “It is finished.” With that, he bowed
his head and gave up his spirit.
John 20:25
So the other disciples told him, “We have seen the Lord!”
But he said to them, “Unless I see the nail marks in his hands and put my finger where the nails were, and put my
hand into his side, I will not believe.”
Our Lent display In preparation of EASTER During Advent we put out the Nativity (several of them actually). During Lent we put out our wooden cross and the many reminders about the true meaning of Easter. Our 12-inch cross and many of the items originally came from Bethlehem Lutheran Church. We’ve added a few more items and Bible versus. (This year we added the bread and cup.) |

stones to stone him, 32 but Jesus said to
them, “I have shown you many good
works from the Father. For which of
these do you stone me?” 33 “We are not
stoning you for any good work,” they
replied, “but for blasphemy, because
you, a mere man, claim to be God.”

They took palm branches and went out
to meet him, shouting, “Hosanna! ”
“Blessed is he who comes in the name of
the Lord!” “Blessed is the king of
Israel!” (palm cross)
